American Capital Agency Corp. Declares First Quarter Dividend of $0.65 Per Share

BETHESDA, Md., March 20, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Capital Agency Corp. (Nasdaq: AGNC) ("AGNC" or the "Company") announced today that its Board of Directors has declared a cash dividend of $0.65 per share for the first quarter 2014.  The dividend is payable on April 28, 2014 to common shareholders of record as of March 31, 2014, with an ex-dividend date of March 27, 2014.

The Company also announced today that in the first quarter of 2014, it made open market purchases of approximately 3.4 million shares of American Capital Agency common stock, or 1% of the Company's outstanding shares as of December 31, 2013.  The shares were purchased at an average price of $22.10 per share, including expenses, totaling approximately $74 million.  Since commencing a buyback program in the fourth quarter of 2012, the Company has purchased approximately 46.3 million shares of American Capital Agency common stock for total consideration of approximately $1.0 billion, including expenses.
